About Cephas |
 Cephas Gilbert has owned Cephas' Hot Shop in Ybor City,
Florida, for over 25 years. His restaurant specializes in authentic Jamaican food, and of course Aloe
Vera Juice drinks. (See
Cephas's Hot Shop menu.) He started his restaurant with $35
- enough to
buy a 30-pound drumfish at the docks, curry and oil. He finished that night with $260.

At 16, Cephas
began working on ships, sailing from Jamaica to Nigeria.
Instead of returning home after each voyage he would join
another ship. Eventually sailing around the world. Cephas
says, "I wanted to see the world. I learned a lot about
culture. Everybody should have at least 10 years at sea, but
when they reach 30, they should leave that life. A seaman
can't raise a family." Cephas has five children. One the
side effects of drinking aloe vera juice according to Cephas, or as he
is fond of saying, "If you don't want to have children,
don't drink the aloe."

Daily Regimen: Aloe vera juice drink first thing in
the morning. Short dumbbell workout. One meal with
lots of vegetables, water and cranberry juice.
